One of the buzziest names in the fast-casual poultry scene has been bringing the heat to the DFW over the past few years. Helmed by local franchisees David Futrell and Ernest Crawford, Dave’s Hot Chicken has been delighting fans of the titular dish and now has its sights set on a new Dallas location, with work set to start on the storefront early next year.
The beloved chicken impresario will be setting up its latest kitchen at 4909 Ross Avenue, suite 100. The paperwork submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation pertaining to the restaurant shows that Dave’s will occupy a renovated 2,892 square foot storefront. Dallas locals will be able to see and hear the signs of progress soon; work is set to begin on the restaurant on January 19 of next year and should wrap by June 19, 2026.
Dave’s Hot Chicken first crossed the road and the fast-casual dining scene in 2017. The chain has since become poultry royalty; the restaurant now has more than 300 locations worldwide.
Dave’s is one of the earliest adopters of the hot chicken craze. The menu is relatively simple but delicious; guests can choose from tenders, sliders, and top loaded fries. Visitors with a sweet craving can enjoy one of Dave’s decadent top-loaded shakes.
