Enoteca Rossio, a restaurant focused on food, drink, and community, is getting ready to open in Toronto at 1444 Dupont Street.

The new concept will open in mid-to-late January 2026, according to owner Agnelo DaCosta, who recently spoke with What Now Toronto. The restaurant is undergoing extensive renovations, including updates to the interior layout, multiple dining rooms, and a large outdoor patio. While initially planned as a minor renovation, the project expanded significantly to reimagine the space entirely. Customers can expect a concept built around authentic Italian cuisine, shared meals, and a neighborhood-focused dining experience. Enoteca Rossio will feature three distinct rooms, each with a different concept, designed to provide both fun and approachable dining. The restaurant will also offer later operating hours to accommodate social dining and a lively atmosphere.

The restaurant is led by a new chef and manager, who are central to the operation under a special management agreement. Agnelo emphasized that while he remains the owner and may be present daily, the focus will be on the team and their culinary vision. The menu, still in development, will highlight in-house preparations, seasonal ingredients, and locally sourced produce. While the food will be high-quality, it is intended to remain affordable and shareable, reflecting Agnelo’s commitment to value for money.

The name “Rocio” refers to a public gathering place, reflecting the restaurant’s focus on creating a welcoming environment for the community. Enoteca Rossio will combine elements of a traditional Italian wine bar with elevated, approachable dining, drawing inspiration from the European enoteca model where quality food and beverages are enjoyed in a communal setting.

Enoteca Rossio will join a growing collection of food and beverage businesses in the Junction Triangle, an area that attracts independent operators seeking to build long-term relationships with residents. The restaurant’s large space, focus on wine, and mix of dining concepts aim to provide an experience that meets the neighborhood’s evolving needs.

As the opening approaches, Agnelo plans to invite writers and local influencers to experience the full concept firsthand, including tasting events that flow through each dining area. Customers and media can expect more updates on the menu, hours of operation, and special events in the coming weeks.
