Hotel Eastport has opened in The Villages, bringing upscale resort vibes to the neighborhood.

The 120-room hotel opened this week in time for the winter season. The property, managed by ACH Hospitality, offers a host of amenities to guests including more than 4,000 square feet of meeting space for events up to 260 people, a pool, and a fitness room.

But what will please both guests and locals is the Hotel Eastport’s three food and beverage options. Ryan Schmied, regional director of food and beverage for ACH Hospitality shared the rundown with What Now Orlando.

Ice cream lovers will want to make a stop at Sundaze, the property’s ice cream parlor. Sundaze has partnered with a local creamery from Central Florida to create a host of flavors using local dairy, fruits, and more.

If you’re looking for a happy hour cocktail, the Boardwalk Bar has you covered. This lobby bar, complete with lake views, offers cocktails, wine, and beer in a relaxed setting. In addition to cocktails, the Boardwalk Bar will have bar snacks if your martini gives you a case of the munchies.

In the morning, the Boardwalk Bar offers morning coffee and breakfast for hotel guests. Offerings include homemade croissant sandwiches, pastries, and muffins.

The star of the show, however, is Yamas, named for the Greek word for “cheers”.  “Yamas is an ode to Eastern Mediterranean cuisine,” says Schmied who says the menu takes inspiration from Greece, Turkey, and the Levant. “Chef Leo has done an amazing job,” says the hospitality executive, who adds that the menu offers Mediterranean favorites like grilled branzino, salads, and more. Of course, a hotel restaurant needs some traditional staples, so look out for an amazing burger, as well as more exotic options.

Schmied says the team has put together a well-curated wine list to pair with your meal. “There are some American and Italian wines, but you’ll also fine interesting varietals from the Mediterranean.”

In all, Hotel Eastport is a welcome spot for visitors to Central Florida, and a new place to explore for locals.
