The Diamond Room, a new cocktail-focused hospitality venue from Patina Group, is preparing to open at 323 Seventh Avenue in San Diego’s East Village.
The new venue is set to move into the former home of City Tacos, which operated in the space beginning in 2020, according to the company’s website, first noted by SanDiegoVille. City Tacos’ tenancy ended after the San Diego Padres exercised a lease buyout earlier in 2025 and did not renew the lease. The space has since been turned over to Delaware North, which is overseeing the development of The Diamond Room. While an exact opening date has not been announced, the venue is expected to open ahead of the 2026 San Diego Padres season, with food service and cocktail offerings planned.
The location sits just outside Petco Park on Seventh Avenue and has long been tied to the ballpark’s surrounding entertainment and dining activity. Delaware North has served as the Padres’ food service partner since 2004 and is currently operating under a contract extension that runs through the 2036 MLB season. The Diamond Room is connected to Patina Group, Delaware North’s premium hospitality division.
Patina Group currently operates premium dining services inside Petco Park, including club dining experiences. Beyond San Diego, the group operates bars and restaurants at major venues nationwide, including the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center, the Empire State Building, and Disney Parks. The company has also provided hospitality services for large-scale events, including the PGA Championship, the Ryder Cup, and the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
The Diamond Room will offer cocktails, premium spirits, and food service. The food program is expected to include multi-course dinners and late-night items. The concept appears designed to operate as an evening-focused venue serving both game-day crowds and general visitors to the East Village area.
This will be an excellent landing spot for The Diamond Room, given its immediate proximity to Petco Park and consistent foot traffic driven by events and downtown activity. The opening reflects Delaware North and Patina Group’s continued involvement in shaping food and beverage offerings connected to the Padres and the surrounding neighborhood.
