Mendocino Farms is officially on its way to Elk Grove.
In 2024, What Now Sacramento reported that the California-based fast-casual favorite was planning its first Elk Grove outpost at The Village shopping center, though the restaurant’s official address had not yet been announced. However, a recently filed alcohol license reveals that the eatery will find its home in a 2,700-square-foot space at 8170 Elk Grove Blvd, Suite 100.
Founded in 2005 by husband-and-wife duo Mario del Pero and Ellen Chen, Mendocino Farms began as a single Los Angeles shop built around a farm-to-table philosophy. The brand is now backed by private equity firm TPG Growth, operating nearly 90 locations across Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Texas, and Washington.
At the Elk Grove eatery, guests can expect the brand’s signature lineup of gourmet sandwiches, seasonal salads, soups, and bowls. Popular menu items include the “Not So Fried” Chicken Sandwich, Chicken & Prosciutto, Baja Green Goddess Salad, and a plant-forward Vegan Bánh Mì. Sides range from Spicy Curried Couscous to Southern Potato Salad, and many dishes can be customized to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-conscious diners.
A company representative told What Now Sacramento that additional details—including an official opening timeline—are forthcoming, so stay tuned for updates. Until then, hungry locals can visit nearby Mendocino Farms locations in Arden-Arcade, Davis, Folsom, Land Park, Roseville, and Vacaville.
The Village shopping center is on track for a 2026 opening and has already attracted major brands, including Whole Foods, Shake Shack, Yard House, Philz Coffee, and NuYo Frozen Yogurt.
