A family-run group of beloved Eastern Massachusetts bakery-cafés is officially expanding to Canton.

Muffin House Cafe is preparing to open its seventh location in a former Dunkin’ space at 22 Washington St in the town’s Cobb Corner Shopping Center, according to a recent social media update from the business.

The news was shared on Instagram, where the Muffin House team posted an upbeat construction update alongside behind-the-scenes renovation footage. “We’ve been getting lots of questions about Canton – here’s an update on where we’re at!” ownership wrote, noting that construction is officially underway. According to the post, new windows have been installed, the sign has gone up, and the patio—formerly the Dunkin’ drive-thru—is complete.

Founded in 2014 by Sheldon Strasnick and his son Josh, who serves as vice president of the brand, Muffin House Cafe has grown from a single Medway storefront into a regional favorite, with additional locations in Walpole, Hopkinton, Mendon, Natick, and Westwood.

Muffin House is best known for its 20-plus muffin flavors, with blueberry consistently ranking as the top seller, but the menu extends far beyond muffins. Offerings include 30 coffee flavors, 13 fresh-baked bread varieties, 11 bagel flavors, pastries, pies, hand-crafted custom cakes, and a wide-ranging selection of breakfast sandwich combinations.

“We really try to make it so you can bring the whole family and there’s something for everybody,” Josh told What Now Boston. “Even if you don’t have a sweet tooth, even if you don’t like coffee, there’s something for everybody.”

The Canton location will offer seating for 25 diners indoors, with an additional 45 seats on the outdoor patio. While an official opening date has not yet been announced, the Strasnick family hopes to welcome guests in mid-April 2026.
