As first reported by the website Dayton.com, a new pizzeria is coming to the Dayton area called Red Bird Pizza. The eatery will be located at 18 N 2nd St, in Miamisburg and is owned by neighbors turned business partners Christian Clothier and Ife Olaore. Clothier, who is originally from New Jersey, and Olaore originally from Nigeria, will bring East Coast style pizza, as whole pies and by the slice during lunch, to the Miamisburg community.
In terms of space, Clothier tells What Now Columbus that the eatery’s occupancy load will be for around 60 people, but the team hasn’t firmed up interior details, such as the seating capacity, just yet. The interior buildout is currently underway now, and Clothier says the plan is to operate in a classic pizzeria fashion, with guests ordering at the counter before finding their way to their seats.
“The menu will consist of six pizzas, we’ll have four staples and two rotating,” Clothier said.
Some of those staple pies will include classics like pepperoni, with the rotating varieties including international inspired flavors, such as ingredients typically found in Nigerian cuisine. In addition to the pies, calzones and meatball sandwiches will also be offered, along with a few sweets. The desserts will include cookies, chocolate chip banana muffins and scratch made bread pudding, along with ice cream that can be added à la mode style to the bread pudding or served on its own.
Currently, the goal is to open the eatery by late June, but that timeline is dependent on the interior buildout and other factors. As the opening date approaches, the team will share more information on its Instagram account.
