Sky Valley Cellars, a Ramona-based boutique winery, is getting ready to open a wine bar and kitchen in San Diego at 530 Front Street.
The company’s new taproom is expected to open in Fall 2026 within the Pinnacle Tower in the Marina District, according to San Diego Magazine. The 1,400-square-foot space will feature an outdoor patio and a full kitchen, expanding the winery’s presence closer to the coast. Owner Houman Dahi is leading the project, bringing his Ramona winery into an urban setting. Customers can expect a wine focused experience with small plates and Roman style pinsas designed to pair with Sky Valley Cellars’ wines.
Sky Valley Cellars is a family-owned vineyard and boutique winery located in Ramona at an elevation of 1,600 feet. The property was originally purchased as a retirement farming project for Dahi’s father and later evolved into a winemaking operation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dahi shifted from selling grapes to producing and bottling wine under his own label. The winery has since earned recognition in competitions, including a 96-point Best of Class Double Gold award for its Italian Style Rosé at the 2022 OC Fair Commercial Wine Competition.
Born in Iran, Dahi moved to Turkey as a teenager during the Iran-Iraq War before immigrating to the United States for medical training in New York City and New Orleans. He relocated to California in 2008 and became involved in farming and viticulture in Ramona Valley. Today, he focuses on expanding his winery and highlighting San Diego County as a serious wine region.
The Marina District location will initially serve Sky Valley Cellars’ wines, with plans to incorporate additional labels later. The food menu will center on small plates and Roman-style pizzas made with a lighter, lower-gluten dough blend of wheat, soy, and rice flour. The space and menu are being curated to complement the wine program.
In addition to regular service, the wine bar plans to host educational workshops and partner with local chefs for special events and food pairings. This will be an excellent landing space for the winery, connecting downtown customers to Ramona Valley’s wine scene.
