Independent small-batch roaster grinds out a new location in Burien.
QED Coffee, owned by Matt Greenfield, is set to open at Three Tree Point, 16957 Maplewild Ave. SW. The new cafe will be the brand’s third location, joining its West Seattle and Mount Baker Ridge spots, according to the shop’s social media page.
“We are excited to be a part of this community and can’t wait to meet all of our new friends and neighbors,” the post read.
The new cafe will welcome both families and dogs, featuring ample outdoor seating and cozy indoor spots surrounded by greenery for colder months.
QED Coffee will offer classic coffee drinks and light snacks, and is in the process of securing a liquor license to serve beer and wine.
The coffee lineup includes “The Elements,” a classic diner blend with smoky and dark chocolate notes; “The Median,” a medium roast with caramelized sugar flavors; “The Decaf,” offering malty sweetness with hints of molasses, shortbread, and gingersnap; and “The Axiom,” a light roast with bright, sweet notes.
Founded in 2015, QED Coffee takes its name from the Latin phrase Quod Erat Demonstrandum, meaning “that which was to be demonstrated,” traditionally used to close a logical or mathematical proof.
The shop hosted a meet-and-greet in February to prepare for its official opening, which has not yet been announced. Visit the QED Coffee website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for updates.
