Sangucheria Peruvian Street Food, also known as Sangucheria PSF, a San Diego-based Peruvian sandwich and street food restaurant, is preparing to open a new location at Liberty Public Market, located at 2820 Historic Decatur Road, Suite 36.

The new Liberty Station site follows the brand’s first San Diego location and will continue to serve its signature sandwiches, empanadas, and desserts, with the addition of Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken, according to owner Fabiola Doubrava. Doubrava tells What Now San Diego that paperwork is underway and the restaurant hopes to open in about a month. Before this opening, the team will launch their second location in Hillcrest next Tuesday.

The Liberty Public Market location will offer a menu including the Asado sandwich with roast beef and Peruvian chili gravy, Chicharron with slow-braised pork and sweet potato, Choripan with grilled chorizo and chimichurri, Pavo with roast turkey, and Pollo with chopped grilled chicken. Sides and appetizers include beef and cheese empanadas, French fries, sweet potato fries, yuquitas, and loaded fries such as Salchipapa and Choripapa, all served with traditional Peruvian sauces.

Liberty Public Market occupies the historic Mess Hall at Liberty Station, originally opened in 1923 as the commissary for the Naval Training Station. Today, it is a culinary hub featuring diverse vendors, craft drinks, and artisanal food, bringing together locals and visitors to share meals and experiences. Market hours are daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with individual shop hours varying.

Sangucheria PSF’s Liberty Station location will join a mix of established and new vendors, expanding the market’s variety of offerings while maintaining the tradition of gathering over food and community. Other tenants include Landini’s Pizzeria, Wicked Maine Lobster, Fluster Cluck Chicken, Olala Crepe, and Nobelrags, offering everything from pizza and seafood to casual comfort foods and artisanal desserts. The combination of diverse cuisines and family-run concepts creates a full-service culinary experience, making the market a destination for locals and visitors alike.
