Serna’s Trucking, LLC has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The filing aims to reorganize the company’s debts after court records showed a gap between its listed assets and liabilities. Operations are expected to continue as normal at the Texas-based company during the proceedings.

Serna’s Trucking, LLC Enters Bankruptcy

According to the latest case details available on PACER, Serna’s Trucking, LLC submitted a voluntary bankruptcy petition on March 3. The proceedings are currently taking place in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas.

Court filings note that the aggregate noncontingent liquidated debts of Serna’s Trucking, LLC are below $3,424,000. This amount excludes debts owed to insiders or affiliates of the trucking company and is subject to adjustment on April 1, 2028, and every 3 years thereafter.

Founded in 2006, Serna’s Trucking provides hauling services for construction and other materials across Texas. While the company began operations with a single truck, it currently manages a fleet of 40-plus trucks. Established by Claudia Serna, the trucking company’s current offerings include cost-effective transportation, ensuring that construction and other materials are delivered on time.

Baltimore International Warehousing & Transportation, Inc. is another company with a 40-year history, which filed for Chapter 11 protection in January this year. The logistics provider based near the Port of Baltimore opted to proceed under Subchapter V. It qualified as a small business debtor and intended to restructure its debts. Operations were expected to continue as normal through the proceedings.

VP Direct, Inc., a trucking company based in Schaumburg, Illinois, filed for Chapter 11 in November. The Schaumburg, Illinois-based company’s decision targeted reorganizing debts under court supervision. The filing details stated that its operations included approximately 10 power units, supported by 10 drivers.

Court records state that attorney Frank B. Lyon, of the law firm Frank B. Lyon, is representing the trucking company in court. In addition, Claudia E. Serna is mentioned as the authorized representative of Serna’s Trucking, LLC in the petition.
