A new cocktail bar is set to open in the South Austin community. Boni’s Bar Next Door will begin serving Spanish-themed cocktails and tapas-style dishes in a historic bungalow setup from tomorrow. It is a sister concept of the Michelin-recognized restaurant Lenoir.
Boni’s Bar Next Door to Open in Bouldin Creek Neighborhood

Husband-and-wife team Todd Duplechan and Jessica Maher, owners of Lenoir, are launching their latest venture. Boni’s Bar Next Door will welcome guests on Friday, March 6. The bar is located near their Michelin-recognized restaurant. Boni’s is another significant addition to the dining scene of the Bouldin Creek neighborhood.
Boni’s Bar Next Door and Lenoir are both projected to be small farm-to-table restaurants in South Austin. The owners are also celebrating 14 years of Lenoir this year.
The bar occupies a 1934 bungalow built with reclaimed materials, preserving the neighborhood’s historic charm. Todd led most of the renovation work.
Original wood elements and windows are used in the interior to add a warm feel. The patio and yard area features umbrella-covered tables in an intimate outdoor ambience. Here are the details of the new bar:
- Opening Date: March 6, 2026
- Location: 1805 S 1st St, Austin, TX 78704, USA
- Operating Hours: From 3 p.m. to midnight every day except Tuesday
Menu Highlights at the Bar

Boni’s Bar Next Door specializes in cocktails and classic beverages. Most of them range between $12 and $15. Natural Spanish wines begin at $10 per glass. Patrons can also order draft beer, cider, alcohol free options, and espresso drinks. The bar highlights terroir-driven spirits in seasonal cocktails, starting with classics such as:
- Goblets of Gin y Tónica
- Boni’s Margarita, seasonal
- Carajillo with rotating spirits
- Media Combinación
- Papa Doble
- El Viejo Old Fashioned with Spanish brandy and rye whiskey
- Sorbete de Cava
There is also a tapas-style food menu comprising Spanish- inspired flavors and small bites. BBQ-spiced pork rinds, a pickle bowl, oysters, softshell crawfish chips, stewed pork meatballs, and more options are included in the menu.
For dessert, guests may order a warm buckwheat and chocolate chip cookie with dark chocolate, white chocolate, and candied orange on top.
With a classic menu and refurbished vintage atmosphere, Boni’s Bar Next Door intends to provide a casual place for the locals. Similar to Lenoir, this concept is also aimed at honoring family tradition, craftsmanship, and neighborhood connection.
Jesse’s great-grandfather, Bonifacio or Boni, migrated from Spain and settled in New Jersey. He had a craftsman spirit, which passed on to his lineage. Todd’s family history was of gardeners and stewards. Combined, they focus on growing food for both of their establishments.
