PopUp Bagels is coming to Town & Country. The viral bagel company that invites you to “grip, rip, and dip” your meal, announced that it’s opening a Houston shop on Instagram, writing: “One location just wasn’t enough…Houston, we are on our way.”
The 1,200 square foot shop will open at 700 Town and Country Boulevard, Suite 2640. Franchise owner Don Meij tells What Now Houston that it’s too soon to announce an opening date, and the the bagel shop is, simply, “coming soon“.
PopUp Bagels was founded in 2020 as a pandemic project by Adam Goldberg and Jeff Lewis. The two started a backyard pickup window as a novel way to share their bagel recipe with friends. That little Connecticut cottage industry has grown, with more than two dozen locations in multiple states.
In a sea of bagels, PopUp bagels are unique for their crispy crust, soft center, and suggested method of eating them. Instead of toasted and sliced, they’re are served warm and fresh from the oven, inviting customers to tear off pieces of bagel and dip them into cups of cream cheese schmears in a host of rotating flavors. PopUp became a viral sensation both for its flavor and freshness and for the fun, unique approach to enjoying a classic bagel.
