A cult-favorite New York smashburger spot is headed to Boston.

7th Street Burger is preparing to open its first two Massachusetts locations at 267 Newbury St in Boston’s Back Bay and 477 W Broadway in South Boston. A company representative told What Now Boston that the Back Bay outpost is slated to debut on Friday, March 20, 2026, with the South Boston location to follow in mid-April, though dates may shift.

Co-founded by childhood friends Kevin Rezvani and Paras Jain, 7th Street Burger first launched in the East Village in June 2021 as a late-night burger counter. It has since grown to over 30 locations across New York and along the East Coast.

The brand has built a following around its no-frills approach: a simple menu, quality ingredients, and classic smashburger technique. Burgers are cooked on a flat-top until the edges caramelize and crisp, then stacked with melted American cheese, grilled onions, pickles, and house sauce on a soft potato bun.

“We bring a truly simple menu, with top quality ingredients, and value-focused products to our customers,” reads the website. “Our dedication to what we know best and our commitment to excellence across our locations allows our brand to grow authentically and organically in the hearts of our customers.”

Menu highlights include the classic cheeseburger and double cheeseburger, plus spicy jalapeño versions and Impossible Burger patties for vegetarian diners. Sides range from crispy fries to loaded beef fries, featuring chopped burger or Impossible meat, cheese, grilled onions, and sauce.

The brand’s popularity has reached celebrity circles, too. In a recent interview with Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos, global music star Bad Bunny named 7th Street Burger as his favorite burger spot, saying it’s always part of his routine when he’s in New York.

The upcoming Back Bay location will feature a spacious dining room with seating for 40 guests, while the South Boston eatery will focus on to-go orders with standing counters for quick bites.
