Located in the Auburn region in Massachusetts, Auburn Fabric Outlet is preparing to close down permanently due to the owner’s age and health issues. After serving the sewing and quilting community for 16 years, the store will shut down in December.

Auburn Fabric Outlet to Close in Auburn

The fabric supply store, Auburn Fabric Outlet, is a family-owned and operated business in Central Massachusetts. It is a staple store for discounted textiles, sewing notions, and crafting supplies. Over the years of its operation, the store has built a strong following in the quilters and crafters community, with its high-quality materials at an affordable price.

The store announced the closure in a Facebook post, confirming that its location at 773 Southbridge St. in Auburn will close on December 19.

The team explained that the age and growing health issues of the owner have made the store operations difficult. They mentioned that it was an honor to serve the community for the last 16 years.

In the post, the team assured, “This is extremely difficult for the employees as well, but we will continue to offer discount fabrics and excellent customer service until the day we say goodbye.”

Community Responses on Social Media

Following the closure announcement, several community members expressed their disappointment on social media.

One of the customers wrote, “Such a loss to the sewing community! Thank you for all the joy you brought the quilters who always found just what they were looking for at Auburn Fabric Outlet. Everyone working there were not just salespeople but friends to those of us that shopped there.”

Another customer wrote an optimistic message and said, “I’m sorry to hear you will be closing. I have found so many interesting fabrics and items that I have used for special outfits and costumes. I wish the owner well, and I do hope someone out there might be interested in buying the business”

The store team thanked the community for their support and encouraged them to visit the store until its last day of service.
