Schafer’s Coastal Kitchen is coming to Nassau Bay. The new seafood eatery will take over the former Luby’s Cafeteria space at 1600 E. NASA Parkway, according to Community Impact.
The new restaurant comes from the creators of Schafer’s Coastal Bar & Grille and Lil Outriggers Hula Bar & Grill, John and Janae Schafer. What Now Houston reached out to the Schafer’s to try and find out more details about the upcoming, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
“For years, many residents have said there was a void in full-service dining in the area. We’re proud to help fill that gap with a destination restaurant rooted in Bay Area hospitality,” an Instagram post announcing the new concept opening this fall reads.
“Our current locations include Schafer’s Coastal Bar & Grille, Lil Outriggers Hula Bar & Grill in Clear Lake Shores, and we were partners in Outriggers Seafood Grill & Oyster Bar, the famous waterborne landmark located under the Kemah Bridge.”
The post also details that the community can expect Gulf Coast seafood favorites, a 40-seat oval bar serving Craft cocktails & curated wine selections, and an elevated yet relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. There will also be private dining rooms for events and meetings.
The owners also write that the new opening will create more than 125 local jobs.
The 10,000-square-foot building along NASA Parkway, which sits across the street from Space Center Houston, is currently being transformed into Schafer’s Coastal Kitchen.
With construction underway, we can expect that Schafer’s Coastal Kitchen is on track to open this fall at 1600 E. NASA Parkway.
