Chaiwale & Co., a California-based Indian fusion cafe specializing in chai and inventive food offerings, is getting ready to open a new location in San Diego at 9430 Scranton Road, Suite 101.

The new franchised location will open in the Sorrento Food Court, according to documents recently submitted to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. Franchise owner Naureen Malik tells What Now San Diego that he hopes to open in mid-April 2026, pending permit approvals. Customers can expect Chaiwale’s signature drinks and fusion menu, which blends traditional Indian flavors with American-style eats and desserts.

Founded in Orange, California, by brothers Sunny and Daman, Chaiwale & Co. grew from a passion for sharing authentic Indian chai and homemade treats. The brand emphasizes fresh ingredients, nostalgic flavors, and modern twists, creating a menu that ranges from chai beverages to Indian-inspired burritos, fusion desserts, and other innovative items. The San Diego location marks the brand’s second California presence and the beginning of its expansion across multiple markets with separate franchise owners, including planned locations in Torrance and Riverside.

The Sorrento Food Court provides a convenient, high-traffic setting for the new cafe. The location will feature both quick-service and sit-down options, encouraging customers to enjoy drinks, snacks, and meals in a casual, welcoming environment. Seasonal menu additions and customizable drinks will also be part of the offerings, reflecting the brand’s commitment to innovation and quality.

Chaiwale & Co.’s menu includes more than 22 drinks and 15 food items, such as Indian fusion burritos, unique desserts, and specialty kulfis. The brand blends South Asian culinary tradition with modern presentation, aiming to deliver both satisfying meals and a taste of home in every cup.

This San Diego cafe provides an excellent landing spot for Chaiwale & Co., offering access to a diverse customer base in the Sorrento Valley area. With a focus on authentic flavors, inventive menu options, and a community-oriented cafe experience, the franchise continues its expansion while maintaining the warmth and charm thathaves defined its original Orange location.
