Wyrd Leatherworks & Meadery is moving from its Southeast Portland location to Milwaukie, first reported by The Oregonian.
Since 2017, Wyrd has embodied the fantastical ideal of a tavern, where vikings and knights alike can gather and fill their drinking horns with ales and mead. As the business approached the end of its lease with the lord of the land, owner Travis Sigler decided to expand Wyrd with a larger location.
Dubbed “Castle Wyrd,” the business’s sprawling new space, fittingly featuring a pointed stone turret, will allow the business to spread its wings across 5,000 square feet. The space will include a small stage for the occasional bard to spin their tales and weave their epics.

Like its original location, Castle Wyrd will offer a small menu of snacks, but its main attraction is its house-made mead, a fermented beverage made from honey and water, largely considered one of the oldest alcoholic drinks, potentially outdating recorded history.
Wyrd has yet to announce the address of its new location, aiming for a late spring opening.
