A local barbecue favorite is heading north.

Colorado-born G-Que BBQ will open its fifth brick-and-mortar location at 4931 Cima Vista Drive in Timnath’s Ladera mixed-use development, confirmed founder Jason Ganahl. The ground-up, 4,000-square-foot restaurant is nearing completion and is expected to debut in the final week of April 2026.

Founded in 2015, G-Que currently operates four full-service restaurants in Westminster, Lone Tree, Lakewood, and Thornton, along with stadium locations inside Coors Field, Empower Field, and Folsom Field. The brand also offers extensive catering, serving events ranging from intimate gatherings to blowout celebrations of more than 2,000 guests.

Beyond its restaurant and catering operations, G-Que has made a name for itself on the competition circuit, earning top honors in Kansas City Barbeque Society events, including Grand and Reserve Grand Championships, Team of the Year, and perfect scores across all major categories. It was also inducted into the Rocky Mountain BBQ Association Hall of Fame and named a Top 75 Fast Casual brand and a Yelp Top 100 BBQ spot in the U.S.

The Timnath eatery will seat 170 guests and feature a patio designed for laid-back dining, along with a “Que-Thru” mobile pick-up lane. Rather than a traditional drive-thru, the system is designed for pre-orders placed online or through the app—guests select a pickup time, receive a text when their order is ready, and can quickly swing through to grab their food without leaving the car.

Diners can look forward to G-Que’s signature lineup of slow-smoked staples, from brisket French dip and pulled pork to pork belly burnt ends, smoked salmon, and a rich brisket cheesesteak. Sides like mac and cheese, pit-smoked beans, and loaded baked potatoes will also be on offer, along with rotating wing flavors such as garlic lemon pepper and cherry bomb.

Alongside its championship barbecue, the new outpost will feature a full bar and what Ganahl calls “Colorado’s best Happy Hour,” with $1 beers and discounted barbecue bites like sliders, available Monday through Friday from 2 to 5 p.m.

The location will also include The Ice Cream Farm, Ganahl’s small-batch scoop shop, available at all G-Que locations. Flavors like Bourbon Butterscotch and Banana Pudding—made with cream from Longmont Dairy Farms—add a sweet finish to the smoky spread.

“This is a dream project for us,” Ganahl said in a statement. “We’ve earned a name for ourselves by smoking the best meats in Colorado, and now we get to bring that same championship BBQ to Northern Colorado—our way, from the ground up.”
