About the Restaurant

The Big Boy brand is one of the oldest burger joints in the United States. Bob Wian founded the chain in 1936 and opened its first location in Glendale, California. The brand gained popularity with its classic double-decker hamburger and American spirit.

Over the decades, the chain has operated hundreds of restaurants across the United States, becoming a staple name in American diner culture.

The Indian Springs location carried on that legacy and served breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a menu of affordable classics.

The brand also entered the entertainment space with a Big Boy comic series by Stan Lee in 1956, which continued until 1996. In 1995, Michael Mann filmed scenes from Heat at Bob’s Big Boy in Burbank. The film featured superstars like Robert De Niro and Val Kilmer. The same location also hosted The Beatles in 1965.

While the brand continues to operate in selected regions, its presence has declined in the last few years. The closure of the Indian Springs restaurant marks the end of Big Boy’s footprint in Nevada.
