A new Ethiopian restaurant is working towards an opening on the southwest corner of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. and Northeast Failing Street in Portland. According to submitted liquor licensing documents, Fabbt Ethiopia Restaurant will open at 3833 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

“We are shooting for May,” Yafet, an owner of the restaurant, told What Now on Wednesday.

The menu for the new restaurant is still under development, but expect to find your favorites from Ethiopian cuisine: teff-flour injera with spicy stews, lentils, vegetables, and meats.

The restaurant space will feature seating for about 50 guests.

“We just did the flooring and painted the ceiling,” said Yafet. “We’re working on making a little different, a little unique. Modern.”
