The Brass Tap, the Florida-based craft beer brand, is embarking on making its return to the Alamo City. After nearly eight years of service in San Antonio, The Brass Tap left the market. Well, now the brand is working toward a multi-unit reemergence in San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Business Journal.
The brand is currently looking for franchisees and has not yet released a timeline or first location for the Brass Tap San Antonio expansion.
Scott SirLouis is the chief operating officer for The Brass Tap. What Now San Antonio reached out to SirLouis to discuss the expansion, but we did not hear back by the time of this publication.
“In 2007, three business partners and friends from the restaurant world created a vision for the ‘Ultimate Beer Bar,” the Brass Tap website reads.
“They recognized the explosive growth in the craft beer market and appreciated the simplicity of operating a beer bar versus a full-service restaurant, and began creating The Brass Tap.”
The Brass Tap opened its first location in the Shoppes at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel, Florida, the very next year. There are now more than 50 craft beer The Brass Tap locations across 12 states, with 18 in the state of Texas.
The Brass Tap entered the San Antonio market in 2015 and was known for its “Brew Crew” membership club. The brand had a successful run in the Alamo City for eight years before filing for bankruptcy and closing.
But multiple locations throughout the state remain a testament to the brand’s potential in San Antonio.
While The Brass Tap’s craft beers may be the big highlight of the menu, The Brass Tap also offers a multitude of good eats, including The Brass Tap’s Old-World Pizza, Angus Burgers, and shareables like nachos and quesadillas.
The Brass Tap is expected to make its way back to the San Antonio market with multiple units in the near future.
