Zorba’s Greek Mediterranean Grill Closes

Zorba’s Greek Mediterranean Grill served Greek and Mediterranean dishes with influences from Levantine and Middle Eastern cuisine.

On August 14, the Zorba’s team announced the closure on its official Facebook page. In the post, the team wrote, “After 18 years of serving our community, we are happy to announce that we have flipped our sign to ‘closed’ for the last time.”

The team thanked customers and the community for their years of support and added, “We have been blessed to operate in the time that we have, and we will hold onto these memories for the rest of our lives. To our loyal customers, supporters, and family members, thank you. On behalf of the whole family, thank you.”

The team did not share any specific reason for its closure. The closure announcement was followed by an overwhelming response on social media.

Several longtime customers of the restaurant expressed their disappointment in the comments. One customer commented, “Sad news for me and the community, but it sounds like good news for you. I have fond memories of this wonderful place.”

About the Restaurant

Located at 2110 North West Military Highway, near Phil Hardberger Park and Monster Mini Golf, Zorba’s Greek Mediterranean Grill was founded in 2008 and was operated by Ahmad Al-Dmour, according to Hoodline. Ahmad’s Jordanian roots shaped the restaurant menu and made it popular among the locals.

The restaurant was a perfect spot for casual dining and included an outdoor seating space and delivery services. The menu also offered vegetarian options, seafood, smoothies, and salad options.

With the closure of Zorba’s Greek Mediterranean Grill, the San Antonio community loses a gem of a dining spot.
