On Sunday, April 12, 2026, Tasty Town officially closed its doors permanently in Birmingham. The popular Greek restaurant has been beloved for four years, becoming a go-to for many. The restaurant announced the news via social media, stating it has enjoyed serving the community all this time.

Tasty Town is located at 16 14th Street South and opened in 2022 by Nick Pihakis. The restaurant soon became popular for its food, bar, and happy hours. Patrons have especially loved to stop for the classic hummus, Tzatziki, chicken pita, meatballs, and Greek salad.

The restaurant brought a fresh take on Greek delicacies that elevated its popularity. Unfortunately, its closure this weekend left patrons surprised. Tasty Town has not shared the reason for the closure.

The restaurant announced the closure on Monday, April 13, 2026. Soon after, patrons rushed to share their surprise over the closure. While some called it an April Fool’s prank, others expressed their sadness.

One Facebook user writes, “So sad to hear this. TT had become my destination restaurant when I visited Bham from Montgomery. Will miss their excellent food.” Another user writes, “Sometimes I would stop in just for a slice of their delicious chocolate cake and a glass of wine. I’m sad to see it close.”
