An East Lansing-based coffee chain has more plans for the Buckeye State.

The next Biggby Coffee in Ohio is coming to Wooster, the second location in the city. This comes from an announcement by the Simms family, who owns the first cafe at 2280 Akron Road. An exact address has not been released, but it will be close to the Meijer grocery store on the north side of the city.

“We are excited to provide jobs for more baristas with our local, family-based business model. We also look forward to continuing our involvement in the community with more opportunities to support Wooster’s great nonprofits,” says a recent post from Biggby Coffee Wooster.

Biggby Coffee is up to over 450 locations across the country, and is expanding rapidly in the Midwest. Ohio is one of the company’s most successful markets, with around 80 cafes around the state. Andrew Simms, along with his wife, Lydia and father, Scott, opened their first Wooster location last year and are getting ready to debut their second cafe.

Locations offer a wide range of brews, energy drinks and teas, along with breakfast items. A popular option is their sweet foam cold brew, coming in flavors like caramel and mocha. Cafes also serve classic coffees like Americanos, vanilla bean lattes and red eyes.

From pictures, the owners look to be breaking ground across the street from Meijer on Burbank Road. Other chains near the new coffee shop include Jimmy John’s, LongHorn Steakhouse and Auntie Anne’s. Wooster is around an hour and a half from Columbus.
