Something exciting is brewing in the DFW java scene. 1418 Coffee, a small but growing area coffee chain, is bringing its fare to Richardson later this year in a sort of homecoming for owner David Bryant, according to Community Impact.

The cafe will be setting up shop at 200 E. Main Street. 1418 is poised to take over the space occupied by Isabelly’s Chocolates and Sweet Treats until its closure in 2023.

Owner Bryant announced the new location via social media; his Facebook post states: “I couldn’t be more excited for this location in my hometown. I am a proud graduate of Richardson High School and my kids are graduates of Berkner, along with Michael graduating from the University of Texas in Dallas, which is in Richardson. The city is making a significant investment in the ‘Core District’ and we are honored to be part of it.”

The coffee shop has been a DFW mainstay since 2013. 1418 currently has two locations open and operational-the chain is presently pouring cups in Plano and Proser, and another storefront is in development in Celina.

Bryant states that 1418’s Richardson location is on deck to open late this summer and ends his post with a moving expression of hope, enthusiasm and gratitude: “LeeAnne and I remain humbled and grateful for the doors God has opened to us over the past 8 years, our legacy years. When you think of it, please say a prayer for us through this journey, it is always bigger than us and never about us. Pray for purpose, strength, favor and resources to make it all happen. Thank you!”
