The Liam’s Steakhouse, located at 1713 N Market Street in Dallas’ West End, is a key concept within Dallas West End Hospitality Group’s growing portfolio of restaurants, focused on revitalizing the district through a coordinated mix of dining and hospitality experiences. Led by Jay Khan, the group is building a collection of distinct restaurant concepts designed to work together to strengthen foot traffic, extend guest visits, and support the long-term resurgence of the West End as a dining and entertainment destination.

“The path into hospitality developed through a broader focus on building businesses that create real-world impact,” Khan tells Whatnow in an exclusive interview. “Over time, restaurants became the ideal platform, not just for entrepreneurship, but for shaping experiences, culture, and community within a city.”

Rather than focusing on a single concept, the strategy evolved into building multiple restaurants under one umbrella, each with its own identity while contributing to a unified district experience. “The concept originated from recognizing a gap in destination-style dining within the West End,” Khan says. “While Dallas offers many strong individual restaurants, there was an opportunity to create something larger, a cluster of complementary venues that give people multiple reasons to visit, stay longer, and return often.”

That approach is built on three core principles: delivering high-quality food and service, developing distinct concepts within one portfolio, and creating consistent energy across the West End.

The current lineup includes The Liam’s Steakhouse, an upscale American steakhouse offering prime cuts, seafood, halal steak options, vegan selections, and a refined cocktail and wine program. Additional concepts include RJ Mexican Cuisine, Chet’s Dallas, 3Eleven Kitchen & Cocktails, Mas Street Tacos, and Moak’s Family Texas BBQ.

Each restaurant plays a specific role within the broader ecosystem, helping create a layered experience that encourages guests to explore multiple venues within the same visit.

“The Dallas West End is one of the city’s most historic and recognizable districts,” Khan says. “Despite its potential, it has experienced periods of underutilization. The decision to invest here was about supporting both residents and the broader downtown ecosystem, including tourists, hotel guests, and convention traffic.”

Since opening and expanding the portfolio, Khan says each concept has developed its own following while contributing to increased activity across the district. Guests are responding to the variety of offerings and the ability to move between different dining experiences within a walkable area.

“The biggest challenge is maintaining standards across different cuisines and service models,” Khan says. “It requires strong systems, training, and constant refinement to ensure every guest experience meets expectations.”

At the same time, the most rewarding aspect of the work extends beyond restaurant operations. “Beyond the restaurants themselves, it’s about building teams, creating jobs, and contributing to the local economy,” Khan says. “Most importantly, it’s about creating places where people gather for celebrations, meetings, and everyday experiences that become part of the city’s rhythm.”

The group also continues to focus on community engagement and events across its portfolio. According to additional notes from the business, 16 of the 25 unique concepts participated in a recent Accelerate event, with Khan also inviting a neighboring operator from Mas Street Tacos, bringing total participation to 17.

“Expansion is still a major focus,” Khan says. “That includes introducing new concepts, enhancing existing spaces with events and activations, and continuing to position the district as a top destination for dining and nightlife in Dallas.”

At the center of it all is The Liam’s Steakhouse, a family-rooted concept built around hospitality, premium ingredients, and a refined yet approachable dining experience.

As the portfolio continues to grow, Khan says the mission remains focused on building something lasting, where each restaurant contributes to a larger story of revitalization, community, and connection in downtown Dallas.
