A hotly anticipated DC bar is showing movement certain to inspire excitement in the local community. Frank’s Wild Years-the next project from the team behind beloved dive bar Snappy’s-has officially transitioned to “coming soon” status, with plans to open later this year, reports local media outlet PoPville.

The 1345 S Street, NW bar had said as recently as February 23 of this year that it was coming “not really soon”, but the intervening months have apparently made a marked difference. Frank’s Wild Years is on deck to be opening in about a month, though a precise date is still unclear.

There is not presently a great deal of information about Frank’s Wild Years, beyond the acclaim that comes with sharing DNA with Snappy’s. A liquor license application filed with the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration does confirm that the bar will be serving snack foods for patrons who want a bite with their drink. Additionally, Frank’s Wild Years will be able to accommodate 69 patrons and will have a sidewalk cafe with space for 15 customers.
