Johns Creek resident Katie Bossie has plans to bring a new concept to the Medley development in Johns Creek when the development opens at the end of October. The concept, Hollow Oak, will serve as a curated shop, bookstore and community space with the goal of celebrating the analog lifestyle.
Product offerings will include books, stationery, art and home decor. Expect to see unique items and hidden gems among the offerings. There will also be community-oriented classes and events hosted within the space.
The 1,400-square-foot space will offer a retro atmosphere, drawing design inspiration from the 1960s and 1970s prior to computer-generated design.
“We’re taking the design back to peak human design,” Bossie said. “In the ’60s and ’70s before the computer, people were designing by hand and it was this incredibly beautiful era of design. That’s what we’re hoping to encapsulate in the design of the space.”
Boutique real estate advisory firm Terra Alma assisted Hollow Oak in securing the lease at Medley.
Bossie was drawn to the Medley to debut Hollow Oak due to its alignment with her own values for the brand. Medley is seeking to serve as a third place for people, which is what Bossie hopes to craft through the Hollow Oak concept.
“I am looking forward to getting to know the Johns Creek community. To interface with folks in this way will be really exciting,” Bossie said. “I’m looking forward to seeing what the community is looking for in a space like Hollow Oak and to build a really beautiful space that people enjoy being in.”
