Jersey Mike’s is embarking on opening an eatery in the Shops at Nacogdoches. According to a recently filed permit, the new Jersey Mike’s is slated to open at 7038 N Loop 1604 E, Suite 108.
The permit details that the $225,000 construction project is expected to start before the end of this month and wrap up by the beginning of July of this year. If all goes well with permitting and construction, the new Jersey Mike’s should be crafting, cutting up, and dishing out subs out of the new Shops at Nacogdoches location before the end of this summer.
Steve Tozzi is listed as the tenant of the new establishment. Tozzi is a known San Antonio franchisee for the sandwich brand. What Now San Antonio reached out to Tozzi to find out more details about the upcoming opening, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
Jersey Mike’s started as Mike’s Subs in Point Pleasant, NJ, in 1956. In 1975, a 17-year-old Peter Cancro bought the pioneering sub shop with a loan from his coach. Cancro would rebrand the Mike’s Subs to Jersey Mike’s in 1987 and begin franchising, according to the Jersey Mike’s website. With a focus on authentic “Jersey” roots, the brand rapidly expanded through franchising.
