Dunk & Bright to Close South Salina Street Location

On Friday, April 24, Joe Bright, owner of Dunk & Bright Furniture, took to social media to announce the closure of a store in Syracuse. The South Salina Street showroom has served customers for the past 99 years.

The management has stressed that the company is not going out of business. Bright stated, “This is a strategic decision that allows us to better serve our customers by consolidating our resources and inventory.”

Dunk & Bright’s Clay location in New York has been performing well; therefore, the brand is moving its focus. They are streamlining delivery and centralizing the team. The goal is a more efficient, high-quality shopping experience.

The announcement post also stated, “The S Salina Street store will remain open for a limited time as we conduct a closing sale, offering floor samples and in-store inventory at discounted prices.” Dunk & Bright is a trusted, longstanding brand.

It has ensured that orders, warranties, and service needs at the closing location will be handled by the team in Clay. Joe Bright has invited Syracuse neighbors to stop by the store during its final days, celebrating the legacy at the location.

About Dunk & Bright Furniture

Dunk & Bright Furniture was started in 1927. It has evolved from a local store to one of the biggest furniture retailers in New York State. Founded in Syracuse, the brand has remained a locally based, family-owned business for almost a century.

The company has expanded steadily over the years. A second location opened in Clay in 2022, followed by a third in Rochester, bringing the retailer’s total to three. Now, the retailer has three locations, with a third recently opened in Rochester.

Dunk & Bright features a broad selection of home furnishings, including living room, bedroom, dining room, and office furnishings, mattresses, carpeting, and accessories.

The retailer has an interior design team to provide free home design consultations. This commitment to in-person support, as well as delivery and custom orders, has allowed the company to retain local customers.

The move to close Dunk & Bright’s South Salina Street location marks the end of a long run in Syracuse’s retail landscape. The brand’s longtime loyal customers are looking forward to shopping in the final days, with discounted prices expected.
