Vision Behind the Restaurant
Owned and operated by chef Claudio Urciuoli, Source aimed to offer an upscale dining experience at an affordable price. The menu focused on high-quality ingredients, modern culinary techniques, and presentation.
It featured a variety of dishes inspired by coastal Mediterranean flavors. Source served fresh homemade pizzas and seafood options paired with its extensive wine selection.
According to a report by Phoenix News Times, the restaurant was named one of Phoenix News Times’ Best New Restaurants in 2023. Chef Claudio Urciuoli was also a semifinalist for the James Beard Awards Best Chef – Southwest.
Even though short-lived, the restaurant became an important part of the local community. With the closure of Source, the East Valley dining scene lost a notable restaurant.
