Obon, the Tucson-born restaurant known for its ramen, sushi and inventive cocktails, is planning a new location at the reimagined PV development in North Phoenix, with an opening expected in 2027, according to Phoenix New Times.
The upcoming restaurant will be located at 4568 E Cactus Rd and will be part of the large-scale redevelopment of the former Paradise Valley Mall site.
The more than 100-acre PV project is being transformed into a mixed-use destination with high-end dining, retail, entertainment, residential units and office space. The development is centered around a community gathering area designed to bring the neighborhood together.
Obon is a modern Japanese-inspired eatery and bar offering a mix of traditional and contemporary dishes. With a focus on fresh ingredients, the menu includes ramen, sushi, sashimi, bao, fried rice and teriyaki, along with a beverage program featuring beer, wine, sake and soju.
The new 4,250-square-foot space is expected to reflect the brand’s signature style, with a lively setting and an izakaya-style bar experience.
The restaurant currently operates locations in Tucson, Scottsdale and Phoenix, and the new PV location will mark its third in the Phoenix metro area.
Behind the concept, Obon is part of Blueprints Restaurant Concepts, a hospitality group focused on developing high-quality dining experiences across Arizona.
