Jerry Jerk, a popular food truck that offers Authentic Jamaican dishes, is opening its first brick and mortar restaurant.

Jerry’s Jerk LLC recently filed permit applications with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to open a restaurant at 4261 NW 12th Street, just north of Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. An opening date has not been announced.

Jerry’s Jerk owner, Jerome Lounds, serves authentic Jamaican dishes at his Bronx, New York food truck. This new restaurant marks a new restaurant — and a new location for the entrepreneur who will soon join the South Florida hospitality family.

The restaurant will offer a robust menu of authentic Jamaican favorites such as jerk chicken, jerk pork, fried chicken, curried goat, rice and peas, oxtail, escovitch fish, steamed veggies, and festival (a deep-fried cornmeal dumpling).  The full menu hasn’t yet been completed, but expect authentic flavors packed with rich spices and a hint of heat. Jerry’s Jerk also offers juices, sorrel, and ginger beer to cool down after a plate of food.
