Better Buzz Coffee Company, a San Diego-based coffee chain known for its handcrafted beverages and cafe-style food menu, is proposing to open a new location in Vista at 1650 S Melrose Dr.

The proposed location was recently submitted in documents to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. If this comes to fruition, the project would be located at the current site of a Del Taco. An exact timeline for construction or opening has not been confirmed. If approved and developed, customers can expect Better Buzz’s full coffee lineup, blended drinks, teas, smoothies, and cafe food offerings in a fast casual setting.

Better Buzz Coffee Company operates multiple locations across San Diego County, with existing cafes in neighborhoods including Mission Gorge, Miramar, Hillcrest, La Mesa, Mira Mesa, Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Coronado, Encinitas, Escondido, and others. Many locations feature drive-thru service, cafe seating, or hybrid formats, depending on the site.

The brand is known for its emphasis on consistent coffee quality and a high-volume beverage program. According to the company, Better Buzz is committed to providing consistent coffee beverages in a fun atmosphere with efficient and friendly customer service. The company also states it roasts and delivers coffee weekly to maintain freshness and is certified by CCOF as an organic coffee roaster, with sourcing that includes Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance coffees.

Menu offerings include espresso-based drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos, macchiatos, and cortados, along with signature beverages like the Best Drink Ever, Killer Bee, and Hazelnut Divinity. Seasonal and specialty drinks such as Horchata Iced Latte, Moroccan Spice Iced Coffee, and Mint Infused Iced Coffee are also part of the lineup.

Food options typically include breakfast sandwiches, wraps, avocado toast variations, acai bowls, yogurt bowls, and toasts, alongside blended coffee drinks, cold brew, and energy-style beverages.

If this proposed Vista location moves forward, it would further expand Better Buzz’s presence in North County San Diego, adding another cafe to its growing regional footprint.
