The Collierville dining scene is about to get a little taste of the Garden State. Popular New Jersey-based chain Playa Bowls is opening a new location in the Water Tower District at Schilling Farms later this month, and it’s providing plenty of incentives to check out its arrival, reports Daily Memphian.

Helmed by franchisees Amy Lupo and Jack Speed, Playa Bowls will be bringing acai bowls, smoothies, juice, and other healthy treats to 1335 W. Poplar Avenue.

Playa Bowls will be holding the grand opening for its Collierville storefront on Saturday, May 9, starting at 11 am. Future regulars will want to set their alarms and ensure they arrive at the festivities early; the first 100 guests in line will win free bowls and t-shirts.

This will be Lupo and Speed’s fourth area location, joining stores in East Memphis, Arlington, and Orleans Station. Even more may be in the pipeline-Speed tells Memphis Business Journal: “The quality of the product has us convinced that we can develop this entire territory — the entire Memphis area — and multiple stores will be needed.”

Playa Bowls has been serving up healthier fast-casual cuisine to health conscious customers since 2014. The chain has tapped into a growing desire among diners for more nutritious options and in doing so has expanded to more than 300 locations.
