Subway Expands Its Drink Menu with Poppi Prebiotic Sodas
Subway has partnered with poppi to offer two flavors at its locations nationwide. The brand is joining the shift toward healthier beverage options. As more customers are looking for low-sugar alternatives to traditional soft drinks, the new additions come at the right time.
According to PRNewswire, the poppi drinks will be available from May 6, 2026. The flavors include Strawberry Lemon and Orange. The drinks are marketed as ‘better-for-you’ sodas and contain about 5 grams of sugar along with added prebiotics.
The partnership is linked to Subway’s 10-year exclusive U.S. beverage deal with PepsiCo, which acquired poppi in 2025. The brand is being integrated into partner chains, including Subway.
Poppi’s revenue has grown about 38 times more between 2020 and 2024. It holds a 34% market share in functional sodas and has sold more than one billion cans since launch.
PepsiCo acquired poppi in 2025 at a net cost of $1.65 billion. Now, as the market continues to grow, the brand is projected to go from $175.5 billion in 2022 to $339.6 billion by 2030.
Limited-Time Deal at Subway
To promote the launch of the new drinks, Subway is offering a limited-time deal. Loyalty members can get a free poppi with a sandwich purchase. The offer allows customers to try the drink while expanding poppi’s reach.
The deal may also help Subway grow its loyalty membership. It is upgrading its beverage lineup with trendy, low-sugar sodas.
Subway is modernizing its beverage lineup by tapping into the fast-growing functional soda category. The move is aimed at appealing to health-conscious consumers.
