A fresh shopping spot is coming to San Diego, with Burlington set to open its doors this June in National City at 1410 E Plaza Blvd, Unit B.
The retailer will be replacing Big Lots in the Bay Plaza shopping center, according to a San Diego County permit. This is part of a nationwide expansion, which will see stores opening across the country in the coming weeks, according to details found online.
Burlington Stores is a nationally recognized off-price retailer with more than 1,000 stores nationwide.
According to USA Today, Burlington is set to open 26 stores across 20 US states in May, and plans to open more than 100 stores by the end of this year.
“We look forward to giving shoppers the chance to explore great savings, find fresh brands, and experience our new and improved store design no matter where they live,” Burlington CEO Michael O’Sullivan told USA Today. He added that the new stores will feature an “improved store design.”
With the retailer continuing to expand its footprint, it will also bring new employment opportunities across various positions, including full-time and part-time roles.
The company opened its doors over 50 years ago, selling off-price coats out of a factory building. Many years later, they now sell an array of low-priced brand-name ladies’, men’s, kids’, and baby apparel and accessories, as well as home décor items.
