A popular group of local cafés is growing once again.
Revival Cafe + Kitchen is preparing to open its seventh location at 60 Western Ave in the lobby of the One Milestone complex within Harvard‘s Enterprise Research Campus, reports Boston Restaurant Talk. Plans filed with the licensing board show a primarily takeout-focused setup, with seating for up to 10 guests and access to a private seasonal patio.
Steve “Nookie” Postal, who launched the original Revival in 2016 with partner Liza Shirazi under their MORE Hospitality Group, confirmed the expansion with What Now Boston.
Despite its focus on takeout, the new Allston café will offer Revival’s full coffee and beverage program, including all of the fan-favorite seasonal specials. “Think orange creamsicle cold foam or our pink peppercorn strawberry syrup that goes great with matcha,” Postal said.
Guests can also expect the full lineup of house-made pastries, from Lemon Blueberry Bread and the Lazy Sunday Scone to the vegan Ube Cookies and the ever-popular vegan Zucchini Cardamom Muffin.
On the savory side, Revival’s grab-and-go staples will be well represented, including favorites like the BLT, Chicken Caesar Wrap, and the Feta Late Than Never salad. Postal also hinted at a possible egg salad sandwich inspired by those found at 7-Elevens across Japan.
As for the space itself, Postal describes it as “absolutely gorgeous,” with plans to operate Monday through Friday. The team hopes to open sometime in the coming weeks, pending final approvals.
Once it debuts, the Allston Revival Cafe + Kitchen will join existing locations in downtown Boston, Fort Point, Alewife, Somerville’s Davis Square, Watertown, and Lexington.
