A new family-owned concept is preparing to bring the flavors and comforts of India to Methuen.

Namaste Bazaar and Namaste Café are preparing to debut in the Village Mall at 436 Broadway, according to recent social media updates from the team. The dual-concept venture will be operated by the Patel family, with Pushti Patel overseeing the bazaar and her brother-in-law, Kush Patel, leading the café.

Designed as a go-to destination for groceries, Namaste Bazaar will stock a wide range of authentic Indian staples and specialty goods. Shoppers can expect shelves lined with spices, lentils, rice, frozen foods, snacks, and other everyday essentials commonly found in Indian households.

“Namaste Bazaar brings the true flavors of India to Methuen with an unmatched selection of fresh produce, authentic spices, and specialty items you won’t find in local grocery stores,” Pushti told What Now Boston. “From hard‑to‑find regional ingredients to everyday essentials, we offer a curated variety that celebrates tradition, quality, and freshness in every aisle.”

Next door, Namaste Café will spotlight the vibrant flavors of Indian street food in a “welcoming, modern” setting. The menu is expected to feature favorites like pani puri, chaat, and other savory snacks, alongside freshly prepared handcrafted beverages such as sugarcane juice, coconut water, chai, and lassi.

“From crispy snacks to flavorful fast food inspired by India’s famous street markets, every dish is prepared with traditional spices, fresh ingredients, and the passion that defines Indian cuisine,” reads the café’s website. “Whether you’re craving a quick bite, a comforting cup of chai, or the bold flavors of Indian street food, our café is a place where food lovers can experience the true taste of India without leaving town.”

An opening timeline has not yet been set, as the team is still finalizing permits and completing preparations for the space. Still, recent social media updates offer a glimpse at the progress, showing newly installed marble flooring, shelving, refrigerators, and checkout aisles.

The official menu and grand opening announcement are expected to be shared in the coming weeks. The Patels are currently hiring for all positions, and interested applicants are encouraged to email [email protected] for more information.
