A brand that “brings the art of pasta to life” is looking to expand its craft to Long Beach this year. Pastaphony will take over the space at The Promenade at 210 E. Third St. that formerly belonged to Ubuntu Cafe, according to Longbeachize. The spot should open this summer.
Pastaphony co-founder Leni Benbicaco confirmed the expansion in a brief phone call with What Now Los Angeles.
The Southern California-based chain started in Orange County and has now expanded to five locations, including spots in Stanton, Tustin, Glendora, Fullerton and Carlsbad. There is also a location on the way to Anaheim.
The spot specializes in fast-casual Italian fare, with build-your-own bowls offering classic Italian comfort food featuring various pastas, sauces, proteins and toppings to choose from. There are also sides such as garlic bread, salads and tiramisu.
