Walking into the 20th Century Building in Downtown Los Angeles, you might not expect a laid-back night of Mediterranean flavors and rooftop vibes, but that’s exactly what Florentín Rooftop Bar delivers. Located in Southwest Atlanta at 617 S. Spring St., the comfy rooftop layout offers a view of skyscrapers and baroque architecture, setting the scene for a night of relaxed vibes and bold flavors.

Floretín Rooftop Bar’s menu features Mediterranean classic flavours such as lamb, feta cheese, and prosciutto in small bite-sized dishes, like the Spicy Lamb Sausage, which combines the delicacy with red onion, serrano, calabrian red chilli, and red sauce, and the Broccoli & Ricotta, where tender florets are generously topped with fresh ricotta, finished with a drizzle of olive oil and a touch of chili flakes, creating a simple yet flavorful dish that balances creaminess with a subtle kick.

More traditional foodies can enjoy Floretín’s Pizza Margarita, with fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil, and rich olive oil. Another option is the Greek Salad, blending cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, and feta cheese, and seasoned with vinegar, Dijon mustard, and olive oil.

But the reviews on its website make one thing clear: patrons are won over by the “meticulously crafted cocktails.” The house invites guests with classic old-world flavors in the Negroni Meze and Daiquiri, and also delivers bold combinations with fresh juices and stunning presentation. That’s the case for the Carrot Margarita, described by Florentín itself as “Unexpected, refreshing, and made for golden hour at Florentín Rooftop Bar.” It combines tequila, agave, carrot, dill, orange zest, and Mediterranean sea salt.

Homage to the Greek goddess of spring and fruits, “Persephone” is a blend of pomegranate, grapefruit, lime, rum, and silky egg whites, bringing together vibrant colors and a mix of sweet citrus flavors.

The Mediterranean-inspired concept that has been drawing Angelanos to DTLA over the past eight months was an old vision for the owner, Brandon Robinson. “It’s been a dream of mine for over a decade after helping friends open Wolf & Crane in Little Tokyo. I always had a dream for an airy Mediterranean-inspired concept that I couldn’t get out of my head that I felt was needed in DTLA, and so I made it,” Brandon admitted to WhatNow, in an exclusive interview.

Although Brandon admits running a business is hard work, he says the DTLA industry and community have been incredibly supportive of Florentín. “We continue to grow and find ways to bring more value to the neighborhood,” he celebrates. For him, the effort pays off in the moments when guests enjoy the space he has created and connect.

Brandon also reveals the restaurant has become an inspiration for future projects. A new Floretín in Miami, Florida, is underway, as is another concept in Santa Monica on the Promenade, along with other hospitality projects. “I have many more aspirations to continue growing my hospitality brand, Floré Group, into boutique hotel experiences in the future as well, that use our hospitality as anchors for rooftop bars, restaurants, wellness retreats, and more.”
