A brand that “brings the art of pasta to life” is looking to expand its craft to Long Beach this year. Pastaphony will take over the space at The Promenade at 210 E. Third St., Suite C, that formerly belonged to Ubuntu Cafe (Longbeachize first reported the news).
Pastaphony co-founder Leni Benbicaco confirmed the expansion with What Now Los Angeles, sharing that the team is planning to open the spot in the first half of June.
The Southern California-based chain started in Orange County and has now expanded to five locations, including spots in Stanton, Tustin, Glendora, Fullerton and Carlsbad. There is also a location on the way to Anaheim.
The spot specializes in fast-casual Italian pasta bowls. Customers can build their own bowls with classic Italian comfort food featuring various pastas, sauces, proteins and toppings to choose from. There are also sides such as garlic bread, salads and tiramisu.
The Long Beach location will also feature Grandpa Coffee House inside the space. Grandpa Coffee House is Pastaphony’s in-house coffee concept designed to transform the space into an all-day destination. Grandpa Coffee House will offer coffee, espresso-based drinks, matcha, baked goods and dessert items. There will also be a breakfast menu at the Long Beach location.
“We chose Downtown Long Beach because we see strong potential in the area, with its mix of residents, offices, visitors, hotels and walkable street activity,” Benbicaco told What Now Los Angeles in an email. “We believe the neighborhood is a great fit for both Pastaphony and Grandpa Coffee House, especially with the combination of breakfast, coffee, pasta bowls and convenient all-day service.”
