A new cocktail-focused concept called The Jaguar Room is preparing to open in Knoxville’s Old City, replacing the former Riverside Tattoo Shop space at 224 N. Central Street, owner Tyler J. Measley told WhatNow in a recent interview.

The upcoming bar will feature a beverage program built around spirits from Central America and Japan, with approximately 15 to 20 cocktails planned for the menu.

“I’m kind of taking both of those cultures and blending them together,” Measley said.

The menu will also include a limited selection of Cuban-inspired snacks designed to complement the cocktail offerings.

Measley, who has spent years working in the hospitality industry after starting out as a bartender, said opening his own concept felt like a natural progression.

“It’s an industry that I kind of fell in love with,” Measley said. “Rather than be a bartender forever, there are only a few options, and ownership is one of them.”

The owner said the Old City stood out as a strong fit for the concept because of the area’s growing energy and surrounding hospitality scene.

“It’s a really good location as far as foot traffic, other bars, good neighbors, and a nice growing community,” Measley said.

Additional opening details and a projected debut timeline have not yet been announced, although The Jaguar Room is expected to open later this year.
