A popular brunch cafe, which recently marked its 25th anniversary, is expanding its presence in Philadelphia.

Sabrina’s Cafe, a family-owned concept by Robert De Abreu and his wife Raquel, is set to open on the ground floor of a new apartment building at 419 Bainbridge St. in Queen Village, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Robert worked as a manager at Carrabba’s Italian Grill in New Jersey before deciding to branch out on his own.

“I really wanted to open my own restaurant and I wanted it to be exactly the opposite of a large impersonal chain. It would be a comfortable, welcoming place that served comfortable, welcoming food but with a twist,” he said via the cafe’s website.

With a new vision and a new baby, Sabrina’s Cafe was founded in 2001 and named after their daughter, Sabrina Isabella. In a full-circle moment, Sabrina, now 26, works in the family business as a project manager.

Led by executive chef Lance Silverman, the eatery is known for its scratch-made brunch menu, highlighting sweet and savory over-the-top pancakes, French toast, omelets, chicken and waffles, grits and breakfast sandwiches.

“Sabrina’s became the place for brunch among hip young people. At some point, I guess they started bringing their parents because it became the brunch place for everybody,” Chef Silverman said via the website.

Brunch specials include stuffed brioche French toast filled with banana cream cheese and topped with caramelized banana custard, house-made banana cinnamon cream, sliced bananas, warm vanilla bean syrup, cinnamon and powdered sugar; the “All the Things She Said” breakfast wrap with scrambled eggs, French fries, fried beef bologna, lettuce, diced tomatoes and house-made peri-peri aioli; and the “Shane Hollan-Daise” jambalaya Benedict with shredded potato waffles, two poached eggs, fried shrimp, Creole sauce, smoked beef andouille sausage, pico de gallo and green onions.

The cafe also serves lunch options, including sandwiches, burgers, soups and salads.

Today, the cafe has locations in Franklintown, Collingswood, Wynnewood, University City, Graduate Hospital and Philadelphia International Airport. The Queen Village will add to its growing portfolio.

The team is targeting a spring 2027 debut, as the space is currently under construction and being built from the ground up. For updates, visit the Sabrina’s Cafe website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook.
