Apple Annie’s Kitchen and Bakery is closing in June.

Apple Annie’s Kitchen and Bakery, located in Roseville, Michigan, has been a go-to place since 1998. The eatery is known for homestyle comfort food, generous portions, and fresh-baked goods. The menu offers a wide variety of homemade soups, hearty breakfasts, and dinner options. Some of the bakery favorites include fruit pies, cannolis, and cakes.

The restaurant team shared the closure announcement on Facebook, writing, “With the closing date of the Sacred Heart property now set, it’s with a heavy heart that our family has decided our last day at the Apple will officially be Monday, June 15th.”

The team thanked the community for its support over the years. They added, “First and foremost, we’d like to thank ALL of you for your continued love and patronage here at Apple Annie’s over the decades, especially these last 6 years.”

In the post, the diner team encourages the community to stop in and grab their favorite meal and treat before the door closes permanently.

“We look forward to seeing all of your faces between now and then, as we also look forward to navigating our retirement and enjoying our family,” said the team.

Sheetz to Take Over Site of Sacred Heart Church and Apple Annie’s

According to a Detroit News report, in February 2025, Sheetz, a family-owned gas station chain, purchased the Sacred Heart Church and Apple Annie’s property. The gas station company plans to demolish both buildings. A new Sheetz gas station and convenience store will be built in the same place. The report stated that the demolition of the church “was met with resistance from the community.”

“But the court ruled in favor of the development deal going forward,” stated the same report.

“The official Sheetz press release mentioned that the chain plans to open 50-60 locations in southeastern Michigan in the next five to six years. Thirteen locations will begin construction in 2025-2026,” said another report by CG newspapers.

As the final chapter of Apple Annie’s Kitchen and Bakery approaches its end, the team hopes to celebrate it with the Roseville community.
