Fresh bagels are on the way to a Lakeview storefront this summer.
The owners of Tilly Bagel have been teasing their new shop on social media coming to 3162 N Broadway in Lakeview. This will be the company’s third location, with the most recent expansion into Fulton Market. An opening date has not yet been announced, but signage is now up.
The business was founded by locals Hannah Tillett and Mike Banaszak, who opened the first location in 2023 in South Loop, 34 E Balbo Drive. What Now Chicago previously covered the two opening their second spot in late 2024 at 210 N Aberdeen Street in Fulton Market.
In April, the owners gave an update on construction progress at the new address. Earlier that month, they received the business permit and are now installing the kitchen area. Progress of the inside is believed to be nearing completion.
Chicago-style bagels at the shops include the plain, everything, sesame, cheesy garlic, cheddar and cinnamon. The team also serves a tomato grilled cheese bagelwich with melted sharp cheddar. All of their bagels are available both in-store and for ordering online.
The new Tilly is opening near the intersection of W Belmont Avenue, next to BottlesUp! wine store. This is also across the street from Roebuck bar, and DryHop Brewers. It marks their first expansion to the city’s North Side.
What Now Chicago has reached out to Tillett and Banaszak and is awaiting comment.
