A concept serving Jamaican cuisine with an outdoor patio is coming to the south suburb this summer.

Jerk chicken and rasta pasta spot Jerk Yard is coming to Park Forest at 90 S Orchard Drive. It marks their fourth location since first opening in Hyde Park. Owner David Clausell told What Now Chicago he is looking to open his new location around June 19, or sometime after this date.

“We’ve been planning it since day one,” Clausell said.

The restaurant has grown in popularity after opening in 2024, with locations hosting events, parties and catering for the community. Clausell used to be a nightclub promoter, then transitioned to restaurants to open Jerk Yard. Now, he manages the upscale jerk restaurant concept in Hyde Park, South Loop and Evanston.

Those who have been to Jerk Yard can expect many of the same dinner meals and yard specials, like their rasta pasta jerk pot roast, salmon, jerk rice bowl and loaded jerk turkey leg. Locations also offer four-piece and six-piece wings. Side orders include mac & cheese, steam cabbage and rice & peas.

The restaurant is coming to the west side of S Orchard Drive in the Plaza West Shopping Center. Royal Creations Banquets, Bar & Grill is also at this plaza. The suburb is about an hour south of downtown Chicago.
