Bagels, coffee, and vibrations, they say – that’s Call Your Mother Deli, which plans on opening a new location in Denver.

The Jew-ish deli filed permits for a 1,578-square-foot build-out at 5074 E. Hampden Avenue, according to the Naked Denver.

Call Your Mother will be taking over the space previously occupied by Starbucks at the Happy Canyon Shopping Center. The project is estimated at approximately $64,000 and will include a full commercial kitchen, a 14-seat dining area, and seating for 16 guests on the patio, said the media outlet.

Since debuting in 2018, the deli has grown under Andrew Dana and Daniela Moreira. The husband-and-wife duo opened the first shop in Park View and now has several locations in DC, Maryland, Virginia, Chicago, and Colorado.

Dana told WhatNowMedia, they still in the early stages and is unable to provide information on the opening date, however,  they ‘incredibly excited’ to get rolling.

When questioned about the new location he said: “When I was living in Denver, people kept telling me I had to go check out Duffeyroll, so eventually I did and they were right. The rolls were delightful, but honestly, I also just really loved the whole vibe of the center itself. We ended up spending time there shopping, grabbing coffee, working out, hanging around, and it quickly felt like one of those rare neighborhood spots that still has a real sense of community”.

He added that this is always what they look for with Call Your Mother. “We want to be part of neighborhoods where people actually know each other, where guests become regulars, and where a shop can become part of people’s routines and lives. When the Starbucks space became available, we immediately thought, ‘okay… we have to have this’. It just felt like such a natural fit for us,” he said.

And while Call Your Mother Deli states that they don’t take themselves too seriously, there’s one thing they’re certain about, and that’s their bagels. Their bagels are a hybrid of New York and Montreal styles.

Some of the shops are painted in vibrant pink and blue, making them rather unique. They serve bagels, stacked sandwiches, freshly baked pastries, and coffee. “Guests can expect the same silly-good bagels, banging sandwiches, Jojo coffee, babka muffins, and the real, human hospitality we try to bring to every shop, but with some personality that’s unique to this location specifically.

“We spend a lot of time thinking about how each space can feel connected to its neighborhood while still unmistakably feeling like Call Your Mother,” said Dana.
