Sweet July Café, a concept from Ayesha Curry’s Sweet July lifestyle brand, is preparing to open at The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte, at 201 E. Trade Street, according to recent reporting by the Charlotte Observer. The café is currently targeting a July debut as part of the Uptown hotel’s ongoing transformation.

The concept marks Sweet July’s continued expansion into hospitality. The Charlotte Observer reported that the café will offer coffee, baked goods, smoothies, and café-style fare, and will also introduce menu items inspired by Curry’s Jamaican heritage.

The Charlotte location continues Sweet July’s partnership with The MINA Group, the hospitality company founded by chef Michael Mina. Sweet July Café is listed among The MINA Group’s restaurant concepts on the company’s website.

“Michael and I share a deep commitment to hospitality, community and creating meaningful experiences,” Curry said in a statement shared with the Charlotte Observer. “Sweet July Café has always been about bringing people together, and partnering with The MINA Group has allowed us to bring that vision to life in a way that feels authentic and elevated.”

According to The MINA Group, the concept is inspired by California wellness culture, community gathering spaces, and Caribbean hospitality influences. The company currently operates a Sweet July Café location at Regent Santa Monica Beach in California.

“Sweet July has always been rooted in community and creating spaces where people feel genuinely welcomed,” Curry said in a separate statement shared with the Charlotte Observer. “Charlotte feels like a natural fit for us because of our family’s deep ties to the city and the incredible energy of the community.”

The café will be among several new food-and-beverage offerings planned for The Ritz-Carlton Charlotte as part of the property’s broader repositioning effort.
